The romantic sooky sooky story PART7

There was no escaping it.

He had to take her home with him.

James sat down, and hung his head between his hands, a million thoughts running through his mind. How would he support them both? Surely the police had to give them some sort of financial help, right? Wouldn't she require...lady things? He could always call his mother, but he surmised that she'd get too curious, and he hadn't quite figured out an explanation yet.

Almost  10 minutes had passed before he heard the familiar sound of Nurse Smith's smocks and crocs make their way over to him.

"James? You alright?" she asked, resting a lightly freckled hand on his taut left shoulder.
"Take me to her room please." he mumbled.

She nodded, turned and began walking, James following close behind.
"So, I was told by the detectives that she should be discharged into your care," that solemn tone riddled her voice again.

"Against my will Abi, against."

Her mood took a drastic change. "Well, I think it's wonderful and kind of you to take in a stray," a smile plastered on her face as she stopped in front of a door.
"She's not some stray animal, Abi. I don't know know the hell she is, all I know is that I'm stuck with her." He moved behind her, opened the door and entered the room.

She laid there, staring into space. The hospital, or was it the police? She didn't know, whoever it was, was kind enough to assign her a translator so that she could answer the authorities to the best of her abilities. She wasn't stupid, she knew that if she helped them as much as she could, she could go home...wherever in Russia that was.

She heard the door open, a man with hair and eyes like earth, entered. He stood at the doorway for a minute before the translator entered behind him. She turned to him, hand outstretched, "Hello, my name is Nadyenka Sidorov, Russian translator, yes?" She looked like any other Russian girl, dirty blond hair, straight bird-like nose, thin lips and blue eyes. James returned the handshake, "James Hardelle. It's good to know there won't be a barrier between she and i, for now at least." She smiled and nodded, as she made her way to the young girl's girl bedside. "Would you like to tell her something, Mr.Hardelle?"  He nodded and stood on the opposite side of the bed, the girl's oceanic blue eyes penetrating him. It was strange, he noted, that Nadyenka's eyes were a shade of sky blue, and this girl's eyes almost looked..turquoise. He snapped back and his eyes shifted to Nadyenka, "Tell her that the detectives, Stephens and Jones, has left in my care. She'll be coming home with me after they discharge her."

Nadyenka spoke quick and fluent Russian, he watched the panic emerge on the girl's face. She slipped her hand into the translator's and replied to his statement. Again, the fluent Russian confused him.

Nadyenka's nose crumpled, then she stared at him. "She says she refuses to leave with a stranger. She would also like to know who you are."

He rubbed his eyes, this whole situation was beginning to annoy him. "I'm the one that found her on the side of the road, okay? the detectives basically dumped her on me and I'm being kind enough to allow her to stay with me until they figure out who she is. Now, she can stay with me, where our only interaction is "Good morning'. 'Good night' or 'good bye' or stay in a women's home where they'll bully her, or pass her around for a pack of cigarettes." His tone was stern.

Nadyenka nodded nervously and began to communicated to the bruised girl.

The girl's eyes furrowed, and she sighed, then eventually nodded.

Nadyenka nodded and turned to James, "She has come to terms with the decision. The nurse will be in soon to properly discharge her. There are documents for you to sign at the from desk in the lobby." English rolling off her tongue. She pecked the girl on her forehead, shook James' hand one last time and left the room.
The girl stared at him, he returned it. Minutes passed, and brown eyes still penetrated blue until Abi entered to get the girl ready for discharge. "Sorry to interrupt, " she said solemnly, James was beginning to think the nurse had an emotional imbalance, "No worries Abi, I have to sign out Miss Nameless anyway."

He looked at the girl once more, then left the room.

He slowly walked to the front desk, which was being manned by an older woman. She looked between the ages of 50-60, her brown eyes and soft wrinkled smile held warmth. "Hi, I was told I should sign out the nameless." She handed him a clip board with a document attached, "Sign at all the Xs and fill out the contact information area." He nodded, retrieved a pen stuck to the office desk and began to do as he was told.

*MEANWHILE*

"Come now, time to change into your own clothes." Abi said. The girl simply stared at her.

Abi sighed. Then she started to point at the girl's hospital gown, then to the black pencil skirt suit in her hands, "Take...THAT...off...put...THIS...on." The girl seemed to understand. She hopped off the bed, Her I.V. carefully removed earlier and began undressing. She instantly covered her tiny bisque-colored bra and panties, afraid of Abi's piercing green eyes. The red head gave her a once-over, "Yea, you're no competition." The girl looked puzzled, but Abi's smile somehow reassured her. The girl returned the smile as Abi handed over her clothes, places her heels, well the left foot of her leather Jimmy Choos, on the ground and left.

The girl watched the nurse leave and hurriedly got dressed. She was glad they allowed her to shower this morning. She was also appreciative that they washed her clothes and provided new pairs of underwear. She finished dressing, sat and waited for the Nurse, or anyone, to return. It made no sense to talk, no one but Nadyenka could understand her.

James signed at the ;ast X and handed the clip board back to the old, motherly nurse. She smiled again, "You may take your girlfriend home now." He sighed, he didn't have the energy to correct her.

"She's not his girlfriend," someone said from his left. He turned to the voice and saw Abi making her way towards him. "She's just a lost girl...right James?" she said as she flashed him a brilliant smile, and touched his forearm. He took a small step back, this woman was seriously starting to annoying him. "Is she ready to go? 'Cuz I am." he said, obviously annoyed. She removed her hand and stepped aside, "She should be dressed by now." As he took a step towards the room, she stopped him again, by slipping a piece of paper in his hand, "Here's my number if you need help with her." He nodded and proceeded to the hospital room.

She stood there in her black suit, small rips in the fabric. She was holding her shoe in hand, staring at her peach colored toes. Her head snapped up as soon as the door opened, her eye meeting James'.

"Time to go," he said as he motioned for her to follow him. She understood the gesture, walked to the door and stopped. "Nadyenka," she simply said. He nodded. She wanted to see the translator before she left. He stepped aside, and she walked two doors down the hall and stopped in front of a door.

She knocked on the door and heard "Come in," but didn't respond. The door flung open, "I said, Come- oh, it's you," she said with a smile. " Ya prishyel, chtobi skazat' do svidaniya, Nadyenka,(I've come to say goodbye)" the girl's russian somehow reminded the translator of home. She nodded and replied, "Do svidaniya, moy droog. Ne boysa, Vashi vospominaniya vyernyetsya(Good bye, my friend. Do not be afraid, your memory will return)." The girl suddenly found her toes interesting again and replied, "Ya nye boyoos' moih vospominaniy(I'm not afraid of my memory)." Nadyenka's eyes widened, then softened in realization. She walked over to her desk, retrieved her business card and scribbled a number on the back. "Pozvoni mnye v lyooboye vryemya ya vam noozhyen, v poryadkye? Ya oovyeryen, on boodyet dlya vas grazhdanskogo. (Call me anytime you need me, okay? I am sure he will be civil to you)" She said as she handed the card to the girl who took it and walked away. She stopped mid-step, turned around and embraced Nadyenka like a daughter would do to a mother and whispered, "Spasiba.(Thank you)" She let her go, and turned to walk towards James, who waved good bye to the blond woman.

James walked in, looking at Nadyenka. "you're from Russia right? Does her accent sound familiar? Does she loo like someone u might've met? i know its a  big country."

She shook her head, "No, you see, I left Russia when I was about 5. I remember bits and pieces but nothing much. My parents, out of fear and anger, refused to have us learn anything about our homeland. I guess that just stuck to me. I haven't had an real reason to visit or keep up with Russian news, nor do I really care to."

James groaned and walked away. A woman that could be the key, cares nothing of her country. JUST GREAT.

As they left the hospital, she kept wondering who this man was, and he kept thinking...

"WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?!"

PART 8 SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!: There is some sick shit going on in the royal castle in Russia.
